I have been working in the media industry for over 4 years. Loving it and at times promising myself that I'll not spend another month in this jungle. Recently I realised that its been 4 years already! My last stint at MindShare was the best one in all this time. An interesting client, good exposure and unlimited internal support... it all lead to memorable work, many awards, promotion and incentives, and of course a very good impression.
Day after tomorrow I start my journey in the new field - something that I have been trying to get since some time. Lets see what I do in marketing. How I handle Nivea.

who should one be loyal to?
Yesterday, I resigned from my job, and am soon joining my new employer who's a competing company of my current client. While I was in the process of resigning, I got thinking about loyalties. Should I be loyal to my current employer or the new one? In the two years of my current job, I've striven to work for my brands and beat the hell out of the company I'm about to join in a few days. Once I'm with them, I'll work with the same passion for my team, but then the team will be different.
May be its just about where your salary is coming from. Who ever writes a bigger cheque, I work with them. How different am I then from Indian polititians who change parties by the day? Make promises to people from one party one day only to skip and move on a few days later. Its only about using the right platform to move a step higher on the corporate ladder. Which brand you work for doesn't really matter. What matters is whether the brand works for you.
But then, are employers any different? They will hire me till I can add to their kitty, and throw me out the moment they think I cannot do that. While I'm adding to their kitty, they don't really care about my personal kitty. I'm only a hole in their coffer which is draining valuable money.
Hmm. Basically, no one really cares for each other. We are only using one another to fulfill our own dreams. Its just about trying to be the bigger fish in the pond, and making sure you don't get eaten up.

Here I am, again!
Its 4 months since I first created this blog for myself. And this is only the second day in that time that I have come back to this address. Considering even I have not bothered to come here, of course no one else has bothered either.
Sometime when I was 19 years old I discovered that I write pretty well. It took comments from a lot of people for me to realise that. I started writing then. Managed a few articles and poems here and there. Always wanted to explore that option further, but never really got serious with it. Now I think is the time to take that plunge. Blogging is the answer to my wishes of becoming a writer - anyway I always wanted to write, never really wondered 'how many people will read it?'
So here I am again... hoping to capture life from my perspective...

First day as a blogger
Hi there...
Its the first time I'm writing without knowing who's going to read it. Of course its possible that no one reads it. But this sure seems like fun! Am remembering the first time I wrote an email. I was thrilled to write it, but ver few of my friends had an email id so didn't know whom to write it to. Have come a far way from that... with emails becoming an integral part of life. Let see where blogging goes...
